About LHBC
During the early spring of 2022 a group of around 30 people identified a need for a new church plant in Glendive with a commitment to expositional teaching, Christ-centered fellowship, and Biblical discipleship. In May, 2022, with a leadership team of 5 men and their wives, a fellowship of believers began to gather in the basement of the Glendive Library, which eventually grew into what is now known as Living Hope Bible Church; a non-denominational church in eastern MT with a weekly gathering of around 70 people.
Our Statement of Faith
We believe God’s Gospel is revealed in the Bible, which is His inspired, inerrant, preserved Word. It is sufficient and authoritative for all matters of faith, life, and godliness.
We believe God’s Gospel originates in, and expresses, the wondrous perfection of the eternal, triune God who exists in three distinct persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe God’s Gospel is a declaration of God the Father’s love for His glory. He orders and disposes all things for His glory according to His own purpose and grace.
We believe God’s Gospel is made known supremely in the person of Jesus Christ, who is fully God and fully man. He lived a perfect life, died a substitutionary death on the cross for the sins of the world, was buried, and after three days rose from the dead, conquering death, and is now seated at the right hand of the Father.
We believe God’s Gospel is applied by the power of the Holy Spirit. Every believer is regenerated and indwelt by the Holy Spirit enabling us to walk in the newness of the Spirit and grow in Christ-likeness.
We believe God’s Gospel alone addresses our deepest need. Because all men are sinners, refusing to live according to God’s glorious design, we are in need of repentance and salvation from sin and its dominion.
We believe that salvation is by God’s grace and mercy. Salvation is proclaimed through the preaching of the Gospel, received by faith and repentance, through the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit.
We believe God’s Gospel transforms, reorients, and constrains the whole person. God created humanity as distinctly male and female. As Christians we are to glorify God with our bodies because we are both created and purchased by Him. Sexual intimacy is a wonderful gift from God that is only to be expressed between one man and one woman (as genetically defined by God at birth) within the covenant of marriage. Marriage is the uniting by God of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime.
We believe God’s Gospel compels us to Christ-like, missional living in the world. God’s justifying grace must not be separated from His sanctifying power and purpose. We are to make disciples among all people, always bearing witness to the Gospel in word and deed.
We believe God’s Gospel is now embodied in the church whereby all true believers are united through faith in Christ according to the truth of God’s Word. We believe God’s Gospel will be brought to fulfillment by the Lord Himself at the End of the Age. Jesus Christ will come again to the earth — personally, visibly and bodily — to consummate the eternal plan of God.
We believe God’s Gospel requires a response that has eternal consequences. The saved will be raised to life with God forever, and the unsaved to eternal punishment in Hell away from the presence of God in Hell and the glory of His might.
